Earth Album, http://www.earthalbum.com, is a simpler, slicker Flickr mash-up that allows students to "see" images from anywhere in the world. The website has some of the most stunning photos in the world. Earth album is not a new website but a definite favorite. If you are teaching about any location in the world Earth Album is a site you must use with students!
