How exciting would it be to take that report one step further by turning it into a documentary film?
We have always taught students citizenship skills, and in recent years these skills have included more about bullying and digital citizenship. A great way for students to summarize lessons we are teaching them is to have them create a PSA about these important topics.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3627785609475172206.post-62432086214015909072015-05-22T11:28:58.379-06:002015-05-22T11:28:58.379-06:00Thanks for this post, Camille. I really like the website "Wonderolopolis" because everyday there's a question that naturally sparks a student's curiosity as they wonder about life. Not only are they using their imagination, but they are learning about the wonders of life. There is also an app the can be downloaded for free. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wonderopolis/id505247028?mt=8
I think that it is also important that along with practicing the writing process, students are also practicing their keyboarding skills. Students need to be able to type using correct fingers in the right place. It helps students with typing effectively instead of hunting and pecking their way through their writing process and testing. There are many apps out there that will help students develop this skill. Thanks for sharing your post. It was very thoughtful and helpful for Utah educators as they prepare their students for SAGE writing. These tools could be very beneficial to the student, but they could also be a big distraction. It will be imperative for teachers to show their students how to use the tools effectively in order for the student to be fully prepared for their test. Students have the opportunity to respond using a device that has been provided to them. Two things I like about NearPod. There are ready to use lessons that have already been created that makes it easy to try NearPod and see what it is all about and when teachers are comfortable using NearPod, interactive lessons can be created by them. There are guides on the NearPod site that will help educators sign up for a free account and will guide them on how to use NearPod.
